UPDATE: Frio Divino has closed down.
With the heat starting to pick up for the summer I feel a little less willing to talk about hot things. Right now I'm really in the mood to talk about cold things. Fortunately I stumbled on the Frio Divino ice cream store the other day while checking out a taco truck in Santa Ana (review coming soon).
My brother Gary and his wife Wendy went with me and we each got something different. I got the very refreshing guava (guayaba) sherbet seen above.
Gary got a scoop of rainbow sherbet and a scoop of mango sherbet in a cup (seen below). He said the mango sherbet had chunks of mango in it. Unfortunately the rainbow sherbet didn't have chunks of rainbow in it. Sorry, bad joke.
While Wendy got some chocolate ice cream in a waffle cone:
They also make their own version of Choco Tacos here with a waffle cone "tortilla shell" filled with ice cream "meat" and topped with chocolate syrup "hot sauce." That's what I'm getting when I go back.
